Military artifacts recovered during excavations at a site of battles from the Great Patriotic War.
In the center of the composition is a heavily corroded barrel of a Maxim machine gun with its characteristic ribbed water-cooling jacket. The machine gun is mounted vertically in the ground. Behind it stands a large rusty armored shield from the machine gun mount, featuring distinctive cutouts and fasteners.
In the foreground, directly in front of the machine gun, lies a Soviet steel helmet (SSh-40) of rounded shape with bullet holes and damage. Below the helmet and around it is a large pile of rusty spent cartridge cases and bullets.
